Garden Glossary

For those of you who are new to gardening, here's some help with the terminology

Native
Plants indigenous to a specific area or habitat.

Naturalised
Established as a part of the flora in an area other than the place of origin.

Nitrogen
Very important plant nutrient to help plants to develop foliage and stem growth. It is the main ingredient of lawn food and lawn greeners. A silly trick is to write your name on your lawn by sprinkling urea in the shape of the words. However it takes weeks to notice and then months to even out.

NPK
Acronym for the three major plant nutrients contained in manure, compost and fertilizers, and used to describe the amounts of each readily available.' N' is for nitrogen,' P' for phosphorus, and' K' for potassium.
