Campanula takesimana or the Korean Campanula is a striking rhizomatous, clump forming perennial with heart-shaped, toothed and glossy foliage.
In summer it produces lovely large, drooping, bell-shaped flowers in profusion, borne on long (1m) arching sprays.
Campanula takesimana flowers are creamy-pink with spotted maroon inside.
The colours will be richer the more shade they have and avoid exposing them to very hot dry winds.
Best planted in groups, they go well under bright but dappled tree shade in warmer climates. For cooler climes they are better in open borders or rock gardens.
