Colocasia gigantea or Taro bears huge arrowhead shaped leaves that are a dull green above with a whitish hue below.
The leaves can grow to 1.8m long and 1m wide, making it a spectacular foliage texture plant.
The leaves are borne on tall fleshy stems that emerge from a low basal trunk.
Small spathes are produced from the basal trunk, but these are generally not significant.
These plants love boggy soils, so its useful for those shady, wet sites and hleps add a tropical feel to gardens.
