Unlike regular onions this species creates small globes which will then multiply rather than grow larger.
The stems are hollow and also tasty when chopped up with the globe in salads.
Plant close together either seed directly into the soil or transplanted seedlings - harvest in 8-10 weeks and keep well watered.
Great chopped and raw in salads and also excellent in soups, stews and in particular a major component of stir fries (sliced lengthwise is best).
