This is a tall columnal cactus and as grows it begins to branch. It flowers at night during the warmer months with large creamy-white flowers which can be up to 20cm in diam and have a delicate perfume.
The fruit of Cereus peruvianus contains white flesh and crunchy black seeds and has a delicate floral flavour similar to the perfume of the flower.
