Galium odoratum or Sweet Woodruff is a vigorous, rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial that produces a dense mat of beautiful patterns of whorled leaves.
They tend to be quite low growing, reaching a height of around 30-50cms maximum.
The small, simple, four petaled, white flowers appear in small clusters in late spring and can cover the plant completely, making a very pretty display.
These are delightful, woodland plants that are perfect for shady corners or to tumble over rockeries or under trees.
Makes a very good groundcover or as an accent to other plants like roses and other flowering shrubs in shady and/or acidic locations.
