This is a massive tree growing to 25m tall with an broad crown that can spread to 30m.
It has large glossy ovate to ellliptical leaves.
It produces tiny flowers but these are not visible as they grow within the developing fruit.
The fruits are round and yellow and turn a reddish-orange as they mature.
In parks and large estates it offers wonderful shade but it is too big for regular sized gardens and smaller parks.
It has an extensive and invasive root system and should not be planted close to any buildings.
