Acacia rhigiophylla can be found as a small prostrate and spreading shrub and also as an erect shrub. Both forms are very prickly.
The phyllodes are dark green, narrow and dagger shape with sharp tips. During spring sessile, fluffy, yellow, ball shaped flowers are produced in ones or twos in the phyllode axils.
The prickly nature makes the erect form an interesting option as a natural barrier.
