Lysimachia punctata or Golden loosestrife is a bushy perennial that forms a fast-spreading clump of green foliage, with tall spikes of golden yellow, star-shaped flowers around 25mm across appearing throughout summer.
They tolerate a degree of shade and are attractive to butterflies, birds and bees.
Best suited to mixed borders, they are best planted in large drifts amongst other contrasting plants.
They also go well by streams, in rock gardens and any informal or cottage style garden
Loosestrife will fill an empty area quickly and with plenty of colour, they also make excellent cut flowers.
