Galega officinalis or Goat's Rue is an upright, clump forming, herbaceous perennial that goes very well as a mid to rear mixed border plant, providing masses of pale violet to blue pea-like flowers through summer.
It has light green leaves with lance shaped leaflets and produces its flowers on spikes that are pea-like and reminiscent of Lupins, these are followed by erect, long, narrow pods towards the later part of summer.
These are informal plants that suit cottage style gardens and require space to be at their best.
