Epidendrum radicans is an epiphytic orchid that produces clusters of red or orange flowers on the end of 1 metre long stems which are supported by aerial roots.
The common name refers to the markings on the flower lip that look like a crucifix.
Best in pots or hanging baskets, though it can also go well in rocky corners or cascading over rocky outcrops.
These are rather straggly plants in nature but when you inspect the flowers in close-up you will be blown away by their beauty.
