Acacia alata Alata or the Winged Wattle is a medium size, erect and spreading shrub, the branches are both erect and arching.
The branchlets are flat and appear to lack phyllodes. Closer inspection shows that the phyllodes are flattened and continuous giving the stem a wing appearance. Fluffy pale yellow ball like flowers are borne on stalks from the phyllode axil.
The wonderful display of flowers in spring and winged branches make this an interesting option for a native garden.
