Description
A shapely small tree with a slightly weeping habit. Small dark green leaves are contrasted with small, fluffy, bright yellow flowers in spring. The leaves give off a sticky substance that is aromatic on warm days but its not good planted close to pathways as it leaves dark stains that are difficult to remove. However this fast grower makes a good thick screen and is attractive for its foliage and form. N.B. like most wattles it is relatively short lived.

Soil
Most well drained soils - will withstand wet feet.

Maintenance
Responds well to pruning to keep it compact but destrys its weeping habit.

White scale and borers as it gets older.

Comments
Rare in the wild - it comes originally from Gippsland in Victoria. It composts fairly slowly.
