Description
An evergreen, wiry and bushy shrub with small, heath-like, aromatic, green leaves and fluffy, red flowerheads. Because it's closely related it can be confused with Callistemons. Will tolerate light frosts

Soil
Can grow in shallow, sandy soils but prefers a well-drained, sandy loam with some humus present.

Maintenance
Trim after flowering to keep tidy (will get straggly if not) - mulch well to maintain moisture. Propagate from cuttings in late summer or seed in spring.

Diseases/Remedies
If in too shady a position it may develop scale

Other Species In Genus
30 species including Ambigua which is cream, there are also pink and lilac flowered varieties like K. parvifolia

Best if planted en-masse. Named after Gustav Kunz a German botanist.
