Description
A medium to dense native shrub with unusual, alternate fan shaped leaves with triangular lobes that start rusty brown and mature to green. The flowers that are borne from summer through to autumn are strinkingly fabulous being hemispherical in shape and greenish, silvery yellow. This Banksia most resembles the stunning Proteas, being of the same family. Not suprisingly it is much sought after for cut flowers,

Soil
Most types of soil from poor to rich but best in poorer, sandy soils. Feed small quantities of blood and bone but avoid over fertilisation

Maintenance
Easily cultivated, responds well to pruning to keep tight format.
