Veltheimia bracteata or The Veldt Lily is a bulbous perennial that produces rosettes of basal leaves and dense spikes of rosy/pink to red, tubular, pendant flowers during spring and summer.
The flowers start horizontal but droop as the open developing into a neat, conical, full bloom which will last for almost a month.
They require a good source of light to properly develop the flower colours and keep the foliage compact, though indirect light is best.
They are clump forming and semi-evergreen, generally retaining foliage in warmer climates.
