Mesembryanthemum cordifoliumis a prostrate, carpet forming, succulent perennial.
It has light green, succulent leaves and weak stems.
For most of the year it bears bright pink or red, daisy like flowers. The flowers open when the sun is shining and remain closed on cloudy day and at night.
They make a good groundcover and look very good spilling over rockeries as well as the edge of hanging baskets or other containers.
Sometimes mistaken as Mesembryanthemum or Lampranthus of which it is a close relative.
