This species of a forest-floor perennial, it does best in cool or cold ares. It flowers in spring. The tubular flowers are white with green tips and scented, they hang down from the stems at each leaf axil.
Soil: Rich moist soil
Maintenance: Cut back to the rhizome in autumn as they are dormant in winter. Propagate by division of the rhizome in spring or autumn.
Comments: Scar on the rhizome after leaf drops off resembles the six-pointed star, associated with Kings Solomon and David - hence its common name.
