Leucothoe fontanesiana or Lily of the Valley is a hardy, evergreen, weeping shrub with graceful, arching stems with leathery, pointed, dark green leaves that are quite similar to Laurel.
Spring brings pendulous racemes of bell-shaped, creamy flowers that resemble those of the "Lily of the Valley".
They go well as underplantings of taller shrubs, in courtyard gardens, as well as country cottage style gardens.
