Lambertia formosa or Mountain Devil is a handsome, bushy evergreen shrub.
Its dark green leaves are silver-backed and broad linear in shape with a sharp point which makes the bush quite prickly. The clusters of erect red tubular flowers are produced most of the year but more prevalent in spring and summer.
The seed pods that have a horned-head look to them, hence the common name Mountain Devil.
The flowers are very attractive to nectar feeding birds.
