Fraxinus oxycarpa Raywoodii is an attractive, pyramidal shaped, deciduous tree with handsome, divided, deep green leaves which become claret coloured in autumn and stay around for a long time before dropping.
Often planted as an ornamental specimen, it also makes a good shade tree but does suffer a little from very brittle branches.
Often seen in cooler, elevated regions where the cool autumns bring out the best of the brilliant red colourings of the foliage.
