Cycas revoluta or the Sago Palm is a woody trunked palm-like plant with a rosette shaped crown of stiff pinnate foliage radiating outwards made up of narrow fine leaflets.
Slow growing at first, it is however the most popular cycad grown anywhere in the world.
Plants are one gender or the other with the female cones being larger than the male.
They can live for up to 100 years and can be multiple trunked.
Very attractive - can be successfully grown in tubs and are quite happy in the shade.
