Chamaedorea metallica or the Miniature Fish-Tail Palm is a small palm with a single stem with a tuft of foliage held at its top.
The foliage is only slightly lustrous and has a bluish-green tinge.
The leaves have a fish-tail appearance and are slightly puckered.
Orange to red flowers are produced in spring and are followed by black berries. It's an excellent indoor plant for almost any situation, (even those dark corners where nothing else will grow) requiring only minimal care and moderate light.
Can only be grown outdoors in warm climates, and is definitely not frost hardy.
