Despite its common name, this plant is not a palm and is actually more closely related to the the Yucca genus.
A tall single-trunked tree with a decidedly swollen base and long downward curving leaves forming a terminal rosette, within which older trees will produce clusters of many small pinkish flowers.
It is the distinctive swollen base that has made this a popular indoor and outdoor specimen plant.
Ideal for warm dry sites.
