A tropical, evergreen tree with shiny, large, leathery leaves that are oval shaped with a rusty underside.
When mature it can spread very broadly and require support for the branches.
It also produces aerial roots and very invasive underground roots.
Most often seen in large landscapes as shade trees.
It is definitely too large for most domestic gardens, but it can be grown potted and does make an interesting bonsai specimen.
