Mondo Grass rhizomatous, clump forming perennial that is best as an edging plant or groundcover.
It has tufts of dark green grasslike leaves up to 3mm wide and produces tiny racemes of lilac flowers that are often indistinguishable amongst the foliage.
The flowers are followed by bright blue berries which are about the size of a pea and are an attractive feature of this plant. Plant around 20cms apart for instant groundcover. Good under trees and can also be grown in pots indoors.
N.B. It should not be planted in full afternoon sun as the leaf tips will burn.
