Picea abies or the Norway Spruce is a dense, hardy conifer with a conical habit of spirally arranged branches which turn upwards at the tips.
It is at its best in spring, as the new, soft, bright green foliage unfurls.
It produces tubular, scaled cones, sharply pointed needles and reddish-brown scaly bark.
This plant is difficult to grow, expensive but gorgeous.
