Rhaphiolepis intermedia or the White Indian Hawthorn is a bushy, rounded, evergreen shrub with dark green glossy, leathery toothed leaves and panicles of white, star shaped flowers in spring and summer that mature to berries in winter.
It is a good plant for coastal positions and is very dense and hardy while also being very attractive, especially when in bloom in springtime.
Good for shrubberies and larger pots, tubs and planters, these are excellent ornamental plants that reward with dense flower displays for a month or two in spring and summer.
Heat, cold and salty air resistant, they also excel as a hedge.
