Spiraea nipponica or Snowmound is a deciduous shrub with graceful arching branches bearing wide, rounded leaves that are dark green on top and bluey green underneath.
The branches are weighed down in spring with very showy, rounded clusters of dense, white flowers.
Plant away from the most burning, later afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves - i.e. a little shade. This is a particularly fast growing cultivar.
