Zantedeschia aethiopica Green Godess has rich green, arrow-shaped leaves that grow in clumps from white tubers.
They produce flowers (they are actually just leaves) that look like unfolding cones with a bright yellow spadix (the finger-like bit in the middle) which bears the real flowers. These mature into nutty seed pods.
This plant likes it wet, boggy, and will grow in shallow water, though it is not neccessary as it thrives in normal conditions too.
It can be evergreen given enough water.
Best in shade. "Green Goddess" has a white spathe that turns speckled green at the tip.
