Coriandrum sativum otherwise known as Coriander or Cilantro is a hardy annual herb with all parts of the plant being used in cooking.
It is particularly common in traditional southeast Asian and Indian dishes and you either love or hate the strong, sweet smell that it exudes.
It grows on long, bright green stalks and the leaves look very similar to flat-leafed Parsley.
White or mauve flower heads are borne in summer and are followed by the fruits that are ground to create the spice.
the roots are also use in cooking too.
