Acacia elata is a tall straight trunked evergreen tree and is relatively long-lived compared to most Wattles.
It has a dense, medium-domed crown and bears pollen rich, pale yellow fluffy flowers in late spring and summer.
The foliage is reddish bronze when young, ageing to rich green, and has a feathery appearance.
Prefers full sun - will grow taller and less dense in part shade.
It will not tolerate long periods of drought. It will tolerate short periods of mild frost.
This is a good, dense tree that works well as a screen, hedge, windbreak or shade tree, particularly if you want one in a hurry.
It's also bird attracting.
