Not to be confused with the bamboo that we have all come to know and hate, this bamboo is a clumping bamboo.
While it will still spread, its movement is nowhere near as fast because its rhizomes are shorter than those of the common bamboo.
The bamboo canes vary in size but are generally slender and arch gracefully in different directions.
Atop the canes, clumps of linear leaves with silvery undersides are borne.
Growing in popularity, clumping bamboos look great in pots and make useful screens and hedges.
