Banksia marginata or Silver Banksia is a medium sized shrub that develops different habits depending on parentage and culture.
Generally it grows as a regular shrub, but can develop a prostrate or tall/thin habit in some circumstances.
It has lance-shaped leaves that have a dull green upper surface and silvery undersides (hence the common name).
Summer through to autumn and early winter brings attractive, erect, yellowish flower spikes that are usually 4-10cm long.
