Bowenia spectabilis is an elegant, slow growing cycad that grows in a rosette from a central, rounded trunk.
The leaves are fern-like, bi-pinnate and made up of glossy, oval leaflets and they branch up to seven times on each leaf stem. Leaves start out light green and darken as they age.
This is an attractive foliage plant that can be grow outdoors in frost free climates, otherwise they can be grown indoors.
They produce cones on stalks for reproductive purposes, the female cones are barrel shaped and 120mm long while the male cones are ovoid and 60mm long.
