Coffea arabica is the bearer of that precious bean that acts as a lifeline for the sleepy and lethargic.
As well as producing this valuable stimulant it actually makes an attractive specimen plant with tiered branches covered with lush, glossy leaves.
Small white flowers are followed by the red fruits from which the beans can be removed and roasted.
They need a warm climate, but can be grown indoors as well.
