Euphorbia dulcis is an herbaceous perennial that slowly spreads by creeping rhizomes.
The leaves and stems are a bronze green colour and form a dense, colourful mound. During the summer months yellow greenish bracts are borne at the ends of the branches.
In autumn the foliage and the bracts intensify in colour, turning a rich purple until it eventually dies back in winter.
This is a lovely plant for creating foliage colour variety and contrast.
The variety Chameleon is popular and features more burgundy coloured leaves.
The milky sap is toxic and can irritate skin and eyes. Wear gloves and eye protection when working with Euphorbia.
