Mazus reptans is a perennial groundcover that grows to form a dense carpet-like mat.
It spreads as the stems come in contact with the ground and take root, allowing it to cover wide distances.
The leaves are bright green and the flowers, which appear in spring, are purple/pink with yellow spots.
This plant is very low- growing, usually only reaching 5cms in height, for this reason it makes a useful low growing cover and is useful for filling gaps between pavers and around stepping stones.
