Ulmus procera or the English Elm is a majestic tree with a compact crown that is broadest at the top.
The small, rounded leaves are golden-green and have a rough surface, turning to shades of russet reds and browns in autumn.
It produces tiny red flowers in spring and these are usually followed by small winged fruits (samaras).
It makes as spectacular avenue, shade or specimen tree in large landscape sites.
