Viburnum plicatum or the Japanese Snowball Tree is a dense, deciduous shrub with a rounded, bushy habit and dark green, heart shaped leaves with toothed margins.
Large flattened stems of tiny, creamy-white, tubular flowers are borne on rounded flower heads and are sweetly perfumed. They make a spectacular sight when in full flower.
An added benefit is that the foliage will usually change to red in autumn before dropping.
An excellent fragrant shrub with a nice rounded habit.
