Strobilanthes dyerianus is an evergreen, soft-stemmed shrub with lance-shaped, veined leaves that are green to purple tinted with a silvery metallic sheen and have toothed margins.
Short spikes of tubular, pale blue flowers are borne in autumn.
They are not very frost hardy, unless protected from cold winds and have a tree canopy overhead - then its only marginal.
Good in tropical and semi-tropical garden designs, especially in beds and borders that have a mix of sun and shade throughout the day.
