Ozothamnus diosmifolius is usually a small, erect and open shrub to about 1.5 metres high.
It is widely grown for the cut flower trade as it is long lasting and complements other, more flamboyant species.
If not trimmed it can develop a "straggly" habit in cultivation and is probably past its best after three seasons although annual pruning can help in maintaining an attractive bush.
The pink forms tend to fade quickly in full sun but it is quite tolerant if drought, frost and coastal conditions.
This is a pretty shrub that provides a lot of colour throughout the year and goes well in informal and cottage style gardens.
If you grow them for cut flowers then ensure you harvest them prior to bud opening.
They also make excellent dried flowers.
