This epiphytic orchid grows best attached to trees but will also go well in pots. It has long, strap-like, leathery leaves up to 30cms long and 3cms wide.
The spectacular creamy white and fleshy flowers are borne, up to six at a time, on the end of the long greenish stems and they are very fragrant at night.
Their star-like shape being the reason for many of the common names.
Each flower can last up to two months.
They need lots of light but not direct and burning sun - bright shade is ideal or if indoors then by a window facing away from the sun.
Ensure a good flow of air as well.
