This evergreen succulent is grown for the sculptural leaf formation.
The pencil-like leaves are a blue-grey colour have a sharp browny-red tip and grow in an open rosette formation with an upward curving shape hence the name falcata.
This variety tends to grow 'offsets' before flowering and will form dense clusters if not separated.
It may take up to 10 years to flower but when it does the yellow-green to purple flowers that appear along the top of a tall spike are quite spectacular.
These make a wonderful addition to a succulent garden, patio or rockery.
