Banksia lindleyana, commonly known as the Porcupine Banksia, is a woody shrub growing to around 1 m high with long, narrow, serrated leaves, and bright yellow oval or round inflorescences which resemble a porcupine in texture - but much more attractive.
Flowering occurs in late summer, after which time the clusters of flowers age and turn to brown and then grey cones which are prized for craft carving.
The plant serves as a pollinator for bird and insects.
