Banksia nivea is a small shrub forming a neat dome shape and has bronzey orange flowers forming a circular inflorescence with a hole in the middle.
The hole is thought to allow small animals such as pygmy possums to reach the nectar.
The flowers are produced in the centre of the plant.
The shrub has attractive arching leaves which have toothlike margins that can be as long as 30cm.
