Medinilla pendula is a small tropical shrub that prefers semi-shade and can grow to up to 1m but usually grows to around 1m.
It has deep green, deeply veined, oval leaves borne opposite or in whorls. Bears large pendulous panicles of pink flowers in spring and summer with some spot flowerings at other times. The flowers are followed by purple berries adding colour to the garden once the flowers have finished.
