This Medium sized upright shrub with an open spreading habit.
It has dull green, elliptical leaves and pendulous spider-like clusters of red or coral-red flowers.
It is not popular as a garden plant because of it tends to become straggly.
Soil: Well drained soil low in phosphorus.
Maintenance: Will benefit from pruning to maintain shape.
Grevilleas are intolerant of phosphorus so use a special native fertilizers, a sustained release fertilizer will ensure your plants receive low levels of nutrients for the period stated on the label.
Other Species: There are over 250 species of Grevillea of which most are found in Australia. 135 species originate in South-Western Australia , 70 in South-Eastern Australia 45 in the tropics and 25 species in semi arid or arid areas.
Many species that grow well in WA do not grow so well in the wetter, more humid areas of the Eastern States.
