Bergenia stracheyi is a clumping perennial with a dense habit growing to between 15 to 30cm tall.
The deep green leaves are smaller and more erect than other forms, they have a hairy margin and wedge-tail base.
The flower stems are shorter than many forms growing to the same height as the leaves.
The flowers are funnel shaped, white in colour aging to pink in clusters topping the flower stem.
These are lovely plants going wellt in borders or as ground cover and are very easy to look after.
They are most effective when planted in groups, providing a great backdrop for other colours and textures.
