This is a medium sized shrub which is native to Western Australia. This sun loving plant is quite hardy and will tolerate mild frosts and drought once established.
The wonderful silvery grey foliage makes a great contrast in garden beds or containers.
The linear shaped leaves are covered with a soft down and in winter and spring it produces purple to mauve flowers.
'Blue Velvet' is a improved form of Eremophila nivea and was introduced by Philip Vaughan. It tends to be less susceptible to disease.
There are grafted specimens available and these are recommended as they are more tolerant of varied conditions.
